@Dgainz #ODDBALL2 #timeless #OddBall #OutNow #AllPlatforms #MustListen

As an oddball myself, I can relate to this project. It’s everything the odd ball society has been waiting for: creativity in a rare and raw form. I went back to Timeless, a compilation from 2016. I listened to OddBall , number one, to tap into the project that started the series of odd ball shit.

Let’s Observe the Growth

I know this article is about his recent project but I would like to highlight a few tracks from his previous projects. I was reminded of a few of my favorite listens. First, let’s deal with the the new release then trickle our way down.

New “Wit The Shit” w/ Reefa Rei

Check out the full project.

Timeless

  • Prevail-This song is refreshing and feels good when you’re having a rough time. It reminds you that you will be victorious Everything will be OK, just trust the process and God.
  • What’s the Deal– You have to see what’s up? What’s going on, what’s the deal? Learn about what’s going on.
  • Makin Magic-a positive message of manifesting and using your super-natural powers and instinct to create, build, and navigate to your destiny.

Oddball

  • Ain’t Been –You know how it is when you haven’t been the same, in a while. You need a reminder to get back to doing YOU! Sometimes you can’t let people and circumstances change you to the point where you ain’t you.
  • Lost in Pain-typical shit that happens and leaves you in pain, consciously and unconsciously, maneuvering through life in Chicago. So much hurt generationally that has been passed down to us we can’t even pen point where some of our insecurities come from. This song modernly connects to the “playerism” in Chicago. Fuck these hoes.
  • Call the Preacher-I just love the beat and vibes of how the words flow in the chorus. The hook is so catchy.
  • Potholes-We have hella potholes in Chicago, and if you not paying attention, you’ll be sure to fall in a few. This songs is a metaphor that reflects situations you should avoid, just like these damn potholes.

I was up until 6 A.M. getting my entire life at Beychella Homecoming. I am so inspired by this woman. Her creativity, dedication and hard work gives you hope out here in this “White Man’s World”, as a “black person”. I’ve heard many say “African Americans” have no culture, and Bey just wasn’t letting it slide as the “First African American” to headline Coachella. She came with the sugar, honey, tea, and lemonade for those who don’t know the history of the United States of America and its relational cultural flow.

Her HBCU theme was brilliant with features from Jay-Z, Destiny Childs, Solange, and her selected homecoming participants of HBCUs.

She made it look cool to accept struggles and failures of culture as a collective. She made sure that it was enough representation to go around for everyone, especially for brown folks in America. I’m pretty sure you’ve already seen it, but if you haven’t it’s a must. She gives you a behind the scenes look at what it took for her to put on a grand performance. It was packed with so much energy that I cried a few times during her performance, and remind you I did see it when it was streamed live but I just wasn’t expecting to see her in such a vulnerable state, as a woman, being that she is a very private person.

I read in between the lines. Bey checked a lot of people who had something to say about her, over her 22-year career. One of her songs was coded with a message to the conspiracy theorist who follow the stories of the mass appeal and manipulation of the Illuminati occult {Formation}. Overall her music direction told a beautiful story, and I look forward to watching it again when inspiration is in need.

@Avengers EndGame #NoSpoilers #Review #MustSee @BPOPETV #MarvelMovieMarathon

The marketing for this movie is beyond dope. Brandon Pope, “the only Reporter in Chicago and 1 out of 3 Reporters internationally” was apart of the 59-hour Marvel Marathon of 22 films, and his peers in the event had this to say about the Marvel media flow:

Marvel Studios' AVENGERS: ENDGAME..L to R: Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson), War Machine/James Rhodey (Don Cheadle), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America/Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper)..Photo: Film Frame..©Marvel Studios 2019

#BPOPESENDGAME #MarvelMovieMarathon

According to Rolling Stone, the Marvel journey is comprised of 11 years and 22 movies ending with Avengers Endgame released April 26, 2019, becoming the ultimate follow up to Infinity Wars.

The Avengers was so lit! I’m not going to spoil this for others but I just couldn’t let this move flow by without doing a review. IF Thanos ending the game in the previous Avengers battle was sickening to you, then this will be victorious, yet bitter sweet if you’re a fan of specifics (Iron man becoming the center for the multi-universes). I guess, I’m giving away too much of the plot, right?

From my perspective movies have always carried deeper meanings and manifestations in their messages. I believe that they give you insight into the future plans of the direction the world is going to grow in as they produce culture because art lends ideas to creatives, but that’s just my perspective.

I went to Lansing Cinema to see the movie, and the energy was compiled of true Marvel fans who weren’t going the day without seeing the 3 hour movie. Marvel may have just out done Star Wars at their own game.

Our Godmother #ArethaFranklin is Gravely Ill 😷 🤒 #UpdatesInfo & #LovePeaceBlessings

This is tragic to report for some but it comes of no surprise to me that our Queen Aretha Franklins has transitioned, August 16 after her long fight with pancreatic cancer. She will be missed forever and we will carry the torch beloved. Continue to live a beautiful life.

I woke up this am and hopped on my instagram to explore, discovering the post above stating that our beloved Aretha Franklin is reportedly gravely ill in Detroit; While she’s surrounded by friends and family.

My team and I send love ❤️, grace, and we appreciate our beloved queen 👑 for the barriers she broke for those who came after her. Her legacy is set in stone. As she transcends we want her to know that we love 💗 her forever and that she can peacefully transition. She’s fulfilled her destiny as a beacon of light 💡 here on earth 🌏.

I’m just not going to get into all the extra shit that every other newspaper, blog, or reporter has already told you through the newswire. I wrote this with the mindset that you have already gotten the news. If not my sources are listed below.

@JeCaryous Presents 🎁 “Set It Off” Starring @sosobrat @demimckinney @kylapratt @letoyaluckett at the @ariecrown

What an amazing 😉 play 🎟🎭 ‼️ Je’Caryous prolifically pulled this together. The all-star cast ⭐️ fit the roles, and the story twist….well you’ll just have to catch the last two shows tomorrow to see what’s up.
<

sed the very beginning when Stony's brother was killed and probably a bit more. It would have been nice to let Stony get away 🚶🏿‍♀️ the way she did in the movie, rather than the twist. I wasn't really feeling it but it wasn't outrageously altered, It was 👌🏾.

I will say that there is a lot of work that still needs to be done. After thinking 🤔 about it , they could have invested more into the props and marketing.

My favorite part of the play was the reenactment of Cleo's infamous run 🏃🏾‍♀️ in with the police 🚔. Yo, they had the fucking blue 🚙 car with the hydraulics G.

They sung happy 😊 Birthday 🎂 to Da Brat, who's birthday is April 14. Chicago go get your tickets and support the arts 🎭.

Black Panther Premiere: Community Bonding and Celebration with @ThorntonTwp

Black Panther Premiere at Cinema 8

Published First: Thornton Township

I had the pleasure of connecting with Thornton Township to witness the debut of Black Panther with the community, Feb. 16 at Cinema 8 in Lansing. Royal purple carpets, wristbands, goodie bags with Black History Flashcards, including free snacks and beverages were gifted to the community members for their support in making the day great. The movie theater was filled with love from the elders, generation X, baby boomers, and the millennials who all seemed to take away the great message the movie had to offer which was “We are stronger united than we are divided”. Can you think of any significant way to spend black history month?

There were many other messages that were encoded but the message mentioned above was commonly received by the guest. I cried many times during the movie: tears of joy, tears of realization, tears of sadness, and tears of anger. Black Panther reminded me of my constant duty to the community, and Dr. Jamal Turner, the keynote speaker in theater one, spoke to us about his experience as a real life Black Panther.

Thornton Township was thanked by many guests for doing such a wonderful thing for the community because they provided an opportunity, “To those who probably couldn’t afford movie tickets” as said by Jouhan Sawe, a Thornton Township community member and employee.

Jeanette and Betty BP
Jeanette Quinn and Bessie Watkins, constituents of Thornton Township

Another guest, Jeanette Quin said “Everything was perfect. The movie, how the event was put together, and how smooth it flowed. We were right on time and I thank them for hosting the event.” It’s more than safe to say that the community is looking forward to more remarkable things happening in Thornton Township. I know I had a marvelous time dressed in full regalia, bonding with the people, and being of service to the community. Can’t wait to see what they have in store for the rest of the month, and I hope to see you at the next outing or social.

Check out my Hood Movie Review of Black Panther!

@TheBlackPanther Hood Movie Review @chadwickboseman @michaelb4jordan @Lupita_Nyongo @ImAngelaBassett @ForestWhitaker @DanaiGurira @Winston_Duke @letitiawright

African Prince turned King T’Challa is the first African-American superhero to be center on film in the Marvel cinematic universe, and Wakanda is super lit. Everything that you would expect from a superhero movie was present in Black Panther and the story plot twist had an underlying message that was parallel to reality from the fictional story.

The film ensembles an All-Star cast

Lupita Nyong’o (Nakia)

with Ryan Coogler, also African American, as the Director. People who see the movie will have much to talk about when they walk away such as race, gender, and the advancement of humanity. Black Panther has created wonders for the world and the powers that be. The African Nation of Wakanda is like the garden of Eden and represents an advanced civilization untouched by colonist with beautiful green landscapes below a healthy blue-sky where the sunsets are completely heaven on earth.

There’s plenty of violence, just as you would expect in a Superhero movie. I mean it wouldn’t be one without it, right? Black Panther has an all-female royal guard and his sister, Princess Shuri (Letitia Wright), is a female inventor and engineer who happened to create most of Black Panthers gadgets in her underground laboratory. In the lab you can also get a glimpse of the underground world of Wakanda including their high-tech L train system powered by vibranium. Cool spaceships are also a product of the Wakandians. It pulled urban, rural, futuristic, technological, mystical and tradition together perfectly in a myth building story.

Coogler brilliantly turned the story around from a white villain to black people creating their own villains in life. He brought out a lot of ethos that we have witnessed transpire in the nonfictional world of life. Killmonger, representing African-Americans, and T’Challa, representing Africans, shared a story of blood but how worldly views can impose on brotherhood universally. It seemingly brought two worlds together that often think they are different but in sense are the same. It opened real conversations in the movie throughout the African diaspora by the way the movie was painted. T’Challa had to learn that even though he was carrying forth a legacy, that he could not live in his father’s shadows and encouraged by Nakia to figure out what kind of King he will be. Which was sparked by a brother-on-brother assassination, and the abandonment of a child born into the family.

This movie reveals the importance of having lead characters represent the diversity in humanity. Having a lead African superhero rather then a side kick is important for children who interact in fantasy play to escape the cruel realities of the world. Black Panther has made history and sets goals for those who inspire to create a better world. Even though Black Panther is a movie of the imagination, it’s a movie for the school of thought and those who appreciate art on a higher level.
